Rajat Suri is a Canadian-American entrepreneur who co-founded Zimride (later Lyft) and founded Presto, a restaurant tech company that went public in 2021 via a SPAC merger. He also co-founded Canada’s first student think tank and held roles in sales and business development at several firms. Suri holds a degree in chemical engineering and economics from the University of Waterloo and briefly attended a Ph.D./MBA program at MIT before dropping out. Inspired by a billing issue at a restaurant, he created Presto and even worked as a waiter to understand the industry. He later served as a partner at Helm Investment Partners and a portfolio manager at the Qatar Investment Authority.
